About Albertina
Albertina is the co-founder of Revive Sex and Relationship Therapy. Along with Andrew, Albertina specialises in psychosexual and relationship therapy, working with people from all backgrounds, sexual and gender orientations, relationship types, and disabilities.
Albertina helps individuals and couples with sexual concerns and relationship issues. She has particular skills in working with sexual problems, including relationships where sex has stopped, where there are differences in levels of desire, varying sexual interests, or problems relating to sexual functioning, such as pain or erectile difficulties. These issues may sometimes be a result of life changes, such as pregnancy, birth, bereavement, illness, and ageing. Sometimes couples do not have any such specific problems, but they just want to have better sex!
For many people, going to counselling can be a daunting prospect, and even more so if you are considering coming as a couple. You may worry that the counsellor will take sides, that you will not be understood, or that your partner will misrepresent you. As a trained and experienced couples counsellor, Albertina understands your concerns. She will be able to provide a supportive, neutral environment in which it becomes possible to think and communicate in ways you may find difficult to do on your own.
Albertina is a warm, supportive, and insightful therapist who will gently challenge you to reach a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship and will support you in taking more responsibility for your happiness. When it comes to sexual issues, Albertina will make you feel comfortable talking about them and provide you with information, advice, and homework as needed to make things better.
Albertina completed her postgraduate qualifications in Professional Studies (Counselling) at the University of Leicester and in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Tavistock Relationships, London, as well as an MSc in Psychosexual Therapy at Tavistock Relationships, awarded by the University of East London. Albertina also has an MSc in Career Management and Counselling from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Albertina is a registered member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), as well as a registered COSRT Supervisor. She is Head of the Psychosexual Certificate course at Tavistock Relationships and also teaches on the Postgraduate Psychosexual Diploma course.
